Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in Europe, affecting about 700,000 individuals a year. Many victims of sudden cardiac arrest can survive if bystanders act immediately; electrical defibrillation is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest. The chance of survival diminishes by between 7-10% for every minute the casualty does not receive defibrillation.
This 5 hour course is aimed at individuals who are responsible for using AED defibrillation equipment. It is ideal for individuals who have had no previous training on the AED defibrillation.
